What We're Learning

K4, summer semester, unit 2 (June 14-27)

For the next two weeks we're going to be learning about the time of Noah up to Abraham. We will be building a model ark, talking about the ice age, the dispersal of nations, the beginning of languages, and more. In science, we will be learning about the planets and their characteristics, doing math with their moons and making pictures to hang on the ceiling. We will be praying for Chad and learning about its history, culture, and geography with some fun games, stories, and coloring pages. We are studying the virtue patience, learning a simple definition ("waiting with a happy spirit"), memorizing James 1:2-4, and practicing it in everyday life. For literature, we are reading a chapter a day out of The Door in the Wall by Marguerite de Angeli at nap time.

For encyclopedic knowledge, a simple "Bit Time" video will introduce to following information:
Art: Paintings by Paul Cezanne, set II
Biology: Dinosaurs, set II
General Science: Constellations, set II
Planets of our solar system
Geography: Countries of North America, set II
History: Composers, set IV
Human Anatomy: Bones of the hand

That's all for now, details on how it all goes, coming soon!
